The Problem With “Not Yet”
2,000 Years of Waiting for Something Already Done
For most of my adult life I was taught that Jesus Christ had not finished his gospel mission — that he still had to come back to finish the job. The unfinished business was judging the earth and mankind. At the end of the judgment would come destruction of the world and sinners.
A vast majority of Christian churches and denominations have been teaching a future return of Jesus Christ for almost 2,000 years.
It took less than 500 years from the last Old Covenant prophet to Jesus Christ’s arrival. It has now been 2,000 years since Jesus walked the earth — four times longer than what the Old Testament prophets said it would take for him to arrive.
Something doesn’t add up. The Gospel Revolution is built around one question: what if Jesus meant exactly what he said in Matthew 24:34?

Jesus Said What He Meant
Matthew 24:34 is not symbolic, allegorical, or referring to a future generation. “This generation” means the people standing in front of Jesus. The Gospel Revolution takes him at his word.

Revelation Was Misdated
The entire timeline of Christian eschatology rests on Irenaeus — a second-century bishop who also claimed Jesus was in his 50s when crucified. If he was wrong about that, the dating of Revelation must be re-examined.

The Prophecies Were Fulfilled
The destruction of Jerusalem in 70 AD was the most documented catastrophe of the ancient world. It happened exactly within the generation Jesus described. The prophecy was fulfilled — not deferred.
Why The Gospel Revolution?
The Gospel Has Been Freed
The gospel is no longer a slave to the institutional church, but has been freed from religion’s thorny grasp. Gospel means “good news” — and what’s good news about enduring a stuffy church service? What’s good about attending a service that drains you emotionally?
Church services are designed by clergy to manipulate congregants into responding in a certain way. All churches do it in some form. The sermon with music sandwiching it are among the best examples of how the church manipulates congregants’ emotions.
The gospel is about how the Son of God paid for Adam’s sin to bring humanity back into a relationship with God the Father. Death was the penalty for Adam’s sin, so Christ died to pay for it — wiping it out completely. Then, miraculously, Jesus arose from the dead, causing Adam and Eve and all of their descendants to rise from the dead too.
What is revolutionary about the gospel is that it wiped sin out completely, removing all barriers between God the Father and humanity. There is nothing that separates us from Father God — he is with us always and hears us when we talk to him.
“Seventy weeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city, to finish the transgression, to make an end of sin, to make atonement for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness.”

Even more: Jesus officially destroyed religion upon the destruction of Jerusalem, the Temple, and biblical Judaism in 70 AD. There is no more religious class of people, priests, or clergy. All religions across the world are empty and devoid of God’s Spirit. God now dwells with and in people — not in buildings made with hands.
